This time of the year is when all of the yummy gingerbread men come out and start going into my stomach. They taste so good. My family and some of my extended family went to Salt Lake Saturday Evening to see the Christmas lights and to ice skate. The line for ice skating was extremely long, so we went to The Grand America hotel and saw the Christmas things they had on display. One of the things they had was a giant gingerbread house that was completely edible except for the garlands. Even the windows were edible. They were made of sugar. It must have taken a lot of time and very careful work to create such a large gingerbread house.
That night we also had the privilege of seeing the Christmas lights on Temple Square. They were excellent. I loved all of the nativity decorations around the place. The Spirit of God is very strong on Temple Square around Christmas time. It's a wonderful feeling. I'm very grateful to be in Utah and to have the blessing of being near so many beautiful temples and so many wonderful people. It seems like every young woman or young man in the Church makes his or her way to Utah at some point in their young lives. Utah is a wonderful place. I'm very happy to be living here so close to my extended family.
